350 062 vortec heads...what carb?
350 engine is bone stock with low miles, cast iron 062's with a cyclone dual plane intake and rv cam. I have tbi on it right now but the performance chip thing is getting a bit annoying to get dialed in. I'm a licensed new age mechanic lol. (blew right by carbs in tradeschool lol). What I need to know is what carb would be best for this application?

Factory stock non ccc Q jet.
Edelbrock 600 cfm
Or holley vac sec. 600 cfm
For street, street performance use I would go with the edelbrock 600 cfm. I have used that style carb for many years on street cars and love them.
I ran one on my camaro for 8 years or so, until the engine package got to radical for the edelbrock carb, now run a holley 4150 HP on it.
I have an edelbrock 600 cfm on my vortec head, 355 in my S10.

Only "092" I know of are the 10120928 and that's a 928 head
350, 1987-94
1.94/1.50" valves
76cc
Vortecs are 062, 906 and the 059 305 vortec head

With the RV cam you would be fine with a 600cfm carb. I'd probably go with a 650ish cfm just in case you want to put a more modern cam in it down the road.

cool. 600 is where I would've guessed, but yeah I can definitely see another cam going into this now that I will have no computer issues. prob will go with the 650 in that case.

holley or edelbrock? I know this could be a loaded question, but I've gotta ask anyway.

Re: 350 062 vortec heads...what carb?
Look at my post.. (post #2).
Edelbrock for street performance. A lot of folks don't like them, a lot can't get the 'bog' out of them, but I never had any probs with them, but I understand them.
Like I said before, I have used the carter afb / webber/ edelbrock design carb for many years and love the way they work on the streets and mild performance/track use.
I had a carter afb on my 1st camaro, and edelbrocks on another 5 or 6 cars/trucks, holley on a couple of race cars, and now on my camaro.

Suppose in Canada, there is no concern about maintaining factory equipment intact, or perhaps your Caddie originally did not have CCC? but anyway, my daughter's '87 Monte SS, that now has a similar 350, except for a Edelbrock Performer, used the CCC carb from the original L69 305.

Re: 350 062 vortec heads...what carb?
i went with a holley 750 4150 from the get go, i was more interested in track ability at the time. but it has the adjustment to be good on the street as well as the track. i dont have any driveability issues. 650 might be better for your application. but holley just seems easy to tune, people change there stuff all the time, myself included, and the tuning just seems easy and simple to understand on the holley
