Idling extremely rough when cold

I just got a brand spanking new remanufactured Q-Jet for my car.
My only problem with it is when I first start the car (usually when it’s been standing for a couple of hours/day).

It idles REALLY rough. The whole car is shaking and vibrating. Last time I started it I swear I got airborne! And there is *some* white and black smoke coming out from my pipes. After about a minute (with my foot resting on the gas to keep it from dying) everything is fine, and it pulls like a mother! (Well, as hard as a stock LG4 can pull I imagine)

Anybody know what it could be? It recently passed a smog test so I can’t imagine it being something too serious. It pulls really hard, and is very responsive, so I don’t think it has anything to do with fuel delivery. It runs better than new as soon as it gets warm…

Do I need to tweak with the fast idle/choke settings some more? I keep bumping up the idle, but as soon as the car gets warm the idle goes up to 2-3k…
Any ideas?

Thanks guys!

If it only does it when it's cold, it's the choke. Adjust as needed and verify the choke pull-off is working correctly.
