85 lg4 vacume switch maybe?

I have an 85 T/A with an lg4. There is what I believe to have been a vacume switch broken off in my intake manifold. It is just to the passenger side of the thermostat housing. Does anyone know what this is supposed to connect to or what the part number is? I took a piece out of the same spot on an 84, but dont know if it is the same or what it connects to. Could someone please help.

Thanks

Ben

It's called the "Purge TVS" (Thermal Vacuum Switch). You should be able to get that from most any parts store, dealer if all else fails.

It goes to the charcoal canister (with many other connections to boot). If the underhood vacuum diagram is still there, it will show the routing. If not, try to get that sticker from the dealer or Classic Industries. Having that sticker is a big help (I got the info above by looking at mine).

Oh, and do you know what this does and what kind of problems could be caused by having it bypassed as it is now?

Thanks

You might want to check out the post on this forum called "vacuum line diagram", it might help a little.
