esc Module
esc Module
I am putting a 350 in place of an lg4 and using the ccc setup from the lg4. I checked the parts store and the 87 305 tpi uses the same knock sensor as my 85 lg4. I plan on using a knock sensor for a 87 350 tpi since it is compatable with the 305 tpi computer and the 305 tpi knock sensor is compatable with my car. Anyways I checked on the esc module and it is different between mine and the 350 tpi, and they said that the one for the 305 tpi is unavailable. Therefore it appears that the ones for the lg4 and 305 tpi are different so I dont know if I could use the one for a 350 tpi or not. If anyone knows if I could or knows what one would be suggested it would be greatly appreciated. I was told that I could get a zzz retrofit manual and it would tell me which one to use, but I am struggling to afford to get my motor right now. I think he may of meant zz4 retrofit manual but am not sure. Anyways if anyone has this information please help.
Thanks for the help

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but heres what i did. I used an ECM from an 83 LG4. It has the same ignition curve but it has no provisions for a knock sensor, so I just taped the knock sensor wire back into the harness and put a plug in the hole in the block. I figured it was one less thing to worry about breaking. The car runs fine and Ive experienced no detonation by not letting the motor run real hot and using good gas. Hope this helps.
Well, I think I am going to use the knock sensor, but I found that the 85 lg4 and the 87 l69 knock sensors are the same. I know that you can use the l98 knock sensor with the l69 computer so I figure the same about the lg4. But here is the problem. It appears that the lg4 and l69 have different esc modules. I don't know if the l98 module would work properly with my computer or not. What exactly does the esc module do? I just need to figure out what would be different, so I know what to look for.
