Choke Wires

I have a non-CC Qjet on my 305. The choke doesn't work and i am pretty sure that it is not the actual choke on the carb. I have had several different ones one there. My question is where does the wire that is connected to the choke run too? I believe that mine got disconnected or something because if I hook it up, the choke still does not work and the choke light stays on indefinitely. Any help would be great. Thanx.

The choke light should be on only when the car is stopped, and should go out when it's started. If your choke coil was disconnected or burned out, the choke light would be off at all times. You could have a blown choke heater fuse, or a bad choke heater relay.

The choke light also doubles as an alternator light, but it sounds like your alternator is working ok.
