Holley vacuum leak, base plate

I know that this is really a cheap mans problem, but I don't get my new carb until at least next month. My carb has a vacuum leak between the base plate and the body of the carb. Is there any way to seal it if a new gasket doesn't work. I don't want to spend too much more on this old beater carb and a little riggin to get me by until Feb. is fine.

Depends on what causing it. Maybe the gasket is damaged and replacing it will fix it.

I had the same problem and found that I'd stripped out the baseplate screws on one edge. I drilled and retapped it to a larger size, and used allen head bolts instead.

if the baseplate is warped..you can try doubling up the gasket and over torqueing the bolts...but you may be screwed.

I'm probably screwed knowing my luck this week, but I will try doubling up the gasket. I thought that two gaskets might help, but wasn't sure if there was any better way to fix it. Thank you!

separate the baseplate and main body.
Where ever the gasket is torn or questionable
apply some "Seal ALL", wait about 20 min and
reinstall ... The stuff fixes any thing and is not affected by gas.
Look for it in auto parts stores.
