As I've been researching a new manifold for my Edelbrock to quadrajet conversion, my big concern has been intake height since my current Stealth manifold (LOVE) is squarebore and will be retired with the AVS carb on top of it. I found some info that may be helpful for other members searching for a new intake while keeping their stock, flat hood. I don't know the accuracy of the numbers but they help as a point of reference for comparing one intake to the next and identifying potential hood clearance issues in advance. Please feel free to add to or correct the list I stumbled upon.
FWIW, my current setup lightly contacts the hood and doesn't secure the air cleaner to the carb very well. Stealth intake, 625 AVS with 1/2" plastic collar for the L69 to clear the carb. Also places L69 inlets pretty much inline with my STB.
