EGR Solenoid
Hi,
My EGR Solenoid has failed on my 1984 Trans AM Carb. I am having a hard time finding another one. Does anyone know if there is a substitute or anyone possibly has one? I know it is bad as it is clicking and doesn't hold vacuum.
Any advice or thoughts would be helpful as the car is pretty much undriveable at this point. Oh and please no comments on EGR Delete as I don't want to do that, I just want to find another solenoid. Thanks

Re: EGR Solenoid
Posted in Classifieds for this solenoid. Can't find it anywhere. GM discontinued it. Called Wells electronics and they have no inventory neither does autozone....
If anyone has a new or used one (specifics in below link) it would be a great help. thanks

Re: EGR Solenoid
It's a solenoid (coil of wire wound around a chunk of iron that turns into a magnet and attracts another piece of iron thereby making it move) that opens a valve. Pretty largely a no-brainer. Any variety between any one and any other, is going to be the vac line dia, and the connector style. Gm, Frod, Honduh, Mercedes, ... you name it.
Try a junkyard.

Re: EGR Solenoid
Tried the junkyards. No luck. Tried online and even called WELLS and others similar. Trying to keep it as stock as possible so that's why I would like to find one that is correct.

OIC...
I know how to make cars WORK. "Look" "original", "stock as possible", "correct" in that sense, ... not so much. Afraid you're barking up the wrong tree.
Good luck at the junkyards,

Re: EGR Solenoid
I think I have it. But it might take some searching.
Post a pic so I'll know it when I see it.
