Carb heat soak solution
I recently went to the Syracuse nationals and found a small vendor named CoolCarb selling ~.25” composite spacers. Pretty sure it’s an aluminum coating around some kind of poly. I bought a heat plate, spacer, gaskets and hardware for 80 bucks. With a 2 hour install the plates alone managed to decrease the heat soak to the carb so much that I could rest my hand on the carb indefinitely after 20 min of operating temp, on my car around 220 degrees. Noticeable power gain. Ive got an 86 firebird lg4, Holley street dominator spreadbore intake, edelbrock 1406. Also saved me about .5” from deleting the previous aluminum adapter. Highly recommend and well worth the money, with a variety of different styles for qj, squarebore, etc. figured this could help someone out there.

Re: Carb heat soak solution
Running a composite spacer is a great plan. I even use one under my sniper unit. The difference in heat transfer is crazy

Re: Carb heat soak solution
Blocking off the exhaust crossovers in the intake manifold also helps...
