Help! Help!! Help!!!

Hi i recently bought a 85 Trans Am from Craigslist and repairing it slowly. I did get the engine running! And noticed a few cables around the carburetor that are just laying there! Is there a way to tell if this car had a TBI or Fuel Injection from the factory? Right now it runs on a Quadrate with computer control E2SE...

Re: Help! Help!! Help!!!

Have you checked the option codes under the console lid? A 305 with a carburetor is either going to be LG4 or L69. I would say if you have an electronic carb like you indicated then most likely that is original because guys that convert from FI to carb usually go with an Edelbrock or some such carb since the carbs like you have aren't considered to be very good. The cables you mention are probably part of the electronics that controlled the carb.

Re: Help! Help!! Help!!!

The 8th character of the VIN says what engine was installed at the factory. What is yours?
