LB9 with holley jetting question
LB9 with holley jetting question
92 Camaro with original LB9, shorty headers, 3in exhaust (catless), HEI big cap, summit dual plane low rise intake, brawler 650 double pumper, 1/2in open spacer, 14in drop base air cleaner, engine internals are stock as far as I know.
purchased carb brand new, factory jetting is 70 and 74 and 6.5PV
base timing 10bdc with total timing at 32
idle AFR 11.8-12.3
cruise 13.8-14.6
WOT 13.2-13.8
Car runs, drives and idles pretty good, but idle is a little bit richer and WOT is a little bit leaner then I would like. Taking some fuel out at idle with the 4 corner adjustment to about 12.8 and the light throttle cruise AFR gets terribly lean but worst case I can live with the rich idle but I would like WOT to be somewhere around 12.5-12.8. From my (basic) understanding I should make a change to larger jets on the secondary’s a few sizes but from researching others posts on this forum and others I would’ve expected the factory jetting to be to large for this application. Just wanted some insight if I’m the right track or not, or maybe I’m missing something.
