I am planning over converting the 383 in my 82 Z28 over to alcohol before taking it back to the track. The only thing I'm not entirely sure about is what jetting to go with in the carb. I have #78 jets front/rear and I'm not sure how much to step up with alcohol. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You'll need more than just a jet change to run properly
on alcohol. Althou your gasoline carb can be converted
over to use alcohol, you'd probabily be better off buying an alcohol carb. You will also need a alcohol compatible fuel system.
Your tank, lines, filter and pump all must be able to stand the corrosive nature of Methanol. Your fuel pump and lines will have to have about twice the flow capacity /per horsepower
then you would need for gasoline. Generally you will need to add a "top lubricant" (Sunoco) to the alcohol to help lub the top of your motor. (valves, cylinder walls and rings) It also gives the alcohol a nice smell.
and suppress'es corrosion. Once you've made the initial investment to convert over to Alcohol, it is cheaper to race on, than race gas and will give more torque and a little more hp.
