4160, 600cfm, possible to put metering block in instead of plates?
Ive got a spare 4160 (quite a few now) is it possible to to put a metering block in the rear instead of the plates? Would I need a special metering block or could I plug the power valve on a primary metering block and use it as a secondary??? Just thinking.

Did the conversion on my 750 (see sig). Same kit used for a 600.
I doubt a primary would work, since it has the accelerator circuits in it as well. Don't have one to look at right now to compare, though.

You can also now buy a modified metering plate that
takes holley jets. Or modify your own metering plate.
Drill and tap secondary main jet holes in the face of a metering plate and plug the metering holes in the bottom of the plate.
A #75or#76 jet should work well.

Let's make sure we're on the same sheet of music here. The 4160-series use a secondary metering "plate", and a primary metering "block". The plate is pre-calibrated, the block has replacable jets.
The 4150-series use a metering block in both the primary and secondary sides. The primary will have a power valve, the secondary will not. The 4160 to 4150 conversion kit will have a secondary metering block, jets (72's, IIRC) & gaskets to make the 4160 like a factory 4150.
