What carb for my setup??
i have a 355 with an edlebrock intake. i just recently put in 3.73 gears, a 2400 stall. i was looking into a holley street avenger, but i do have an older holley 4160 that i could get rebuilt for very little money. i would like the double pumper and the "bolt on and go performance" that holley claims but do you guys think i should just get the rebuild and take the metering block off and make it a 4150 carb. thanks alot guys.

Is the 4160 you have a double pumper? The Avengers are all VS. What size is the carb you have? A large double pumper would not be a good idea on a auto tranny 355 unless you have a really loose converter. Typically, a VS 650 is good for a mild cam'd, auto, street-driven 350 car.
If the carb you have is close to the right size, a 4150 conversion at the rebuild, along with proper jetting and the right power valve would probably make it a nice driver for the least bucks.

nope the 4160 is not a double pumper and just another question.. what about the street demon carbs.. what do you guys think? they dont seem like that bad of a price for a demon.

I kick myself every time I think that I could have gotten a Demon instead of the Holley I got last fall.
I would whole heartedly recommend a Demon over the Holley SA any day. Guy I know out here who runs a musclecar restoration/performance shop became a Demon convert about 4 months after I got my Holley

If your current Holley is not worn out just rebuild it and save some money. I personally prefer Holley. A 750 cfm (properly tuned) sounds about right for your setup.
