The lean mixture mc solonoid 1.304" guage measures?
I've been unsucessful finding one at Pep boys, napa, advance, Auto Zone, car quest, etc. People have no idea what I'm talking about.
So I made one out of a pen shaft, I cut 1.4 and grinded it to 1.304".
It measures the distance from the MC solonoid plunger to the metering jet.
Where on the metering jet? It is two tiered.
The top of the narrow tier? or the ledge of the wider tier? I tried the latter and the carb will only run smooth at WOT.
I get Code 44 (Lean).
Thanks!

You can get the part you need at pep boys...it's listed with the rebuild kits, called something like 'mixture adjusting kit' and will only be a few bucks. Chances are it's special order though. It comes with the tool for thr rich/leans stops, a MCS travel guage/IAB tool and the tube for setting initial lean stop.
If i could help you with your exact question i would, but it's been a while since i've done it, so i don't know how eactly the tube sat on the jet.

Thanks! I logged on Thexton and ordered the tools and the guages. Should have done that a month ago before I started this ruthless search!!
