Performer RPM manifold....

Will I be able to clear a stock hood with the taller performer RPM manifold or will I need a regular performer intake. I've got the stock LG4 carb for now but may upgrade later. Will I have problems in the future? Thanks

You should be able to as long as you use a low profile cleaner. I have a preformer ahn my 14X4 inch cleaner touches the hood a little. A 14x3 or a open screen triangle cleaner should work fine with a RPM.

I had a Performer RPM and a edelbrock 600 and it wouldnt fit under my hood, i had to pull the heat shield material out and the carb screw Still hit the top of my hood, and actually made a little dent on the hood where the screw was pushing on the hood.

I was running a 14x3 air cleaner, which was getting NO Air

So to run a 14x3 aircleaner with the RPM, I'll probably have to go with a drop base. Also has anybody tried the fiberglass dual snorkel from ramairbox.com? Thanks

Mine fits under my hood. When I was about to install the Performer RPM 7101, it looked like it wouldn't fit, I tried anyway and it fit, no problem. I have a 14x3 dropbase air cleaner.

Mine does not even come close to letting the hood close. I don't think the hood would close w/o any air cleaner. The choke horn is even with the top of my fenders. I have the Performer RPM Vortec and Holley 3310.

You may have to scrounge around the junkyards for certain 1980's Buicks with the 3.8 V6. Some had a special low-profile cap over the carb that went to a hose that connected to a remote air cleaner box. It was the only way Buick could get the hoodline really low on cars such as the Regal.

It may not be the most free-breathing arrangement but it will help you to close your hood!
