What are the symptoms of a blown power valve?Every power valve I have ever seen that was bad always poped back through the carb.I suspect I have a bad power valve because my car floods very bad when idling and sputters real bad when you hit the throttle till it gets to about 3000RPM's then it clears up but its not popping back through the carb.

 

If you have a bad power valve your car would barely idle even with the misture screws turned all the way in and it would spew black smoke out the exhaust. Did you set your idle mixture with a tach or vacuum gauge? How far up is your secondary idle stop?

like he said..it will barely idle..maybe smoke. It will run even is the idle mixtures crews are all the way closed. you can test them out of th carb by suckingon the backside, you'll feel if the diaphram leaks.
