on my sons car i ran a hard line from the factory flex line to a regulator w/tee. the tee went from the regulator to the gauge and the carb. pretty simple to figure out and install.

Mr Gasket makes an inline fitting for fuel pressure gauges as well. 3/8 hose barb on both ends and an 1/8th npt for the pressure gauge. $12.00 around here, shouldn't much more than that where you are. Most any High Perf store ought to have one.

I'm running mine from a AN fitting with a 1/8 port for it.That is a blue pump regulator.

Well, all them answers are good but i think that the fuel pressure gauge should be inside the car where you can see it. You really want to know the fuel pressure at idle but more importantly you want to know the pressure at WOT. I bought a Stewert Warner elect. fuel pressure gauge and it works just great. Now, you never want to run a fuel line inside the car. Fire Hazard !!

I agree with Auggie. Fuel pressure readings at idle mean exactly Jack Schitt. If you want fuel pressure readings that mean something you have to have the gague somewhere you can read it while you are driving.

If you want to mount it INSIDE the car make sure you use a fuel pressure line isolator kit (available from any speed shop, just like the guage and in-line fuel line fitting) so there is no possibility of a like leaking/coming off and spraying fuel around the inside of the car.

If all you want to do is a quick road test to see if the fuel pressure is dropping off at the top of each gear then it's perfectly accepatble to use some flexible line and duct tape the gague to the OUTSIDE of the windshield (temporarily!).

On the 79, I have an autometer FPG, and fuel isolator, the guage is in the car, with Zero fire hazard, the isolator uses fuel pressure on one side of a rubber diaphragm, to put pressure on antifreeze on the other side of the diaphragm, the pressured antifreez goes to the guage inside the car, it actaully works quite well.

F/P can also be seen if gauge is mounted on hood. Looks sweet too IMO...
