Stupid question about hangers (Answer it anyway please!!)
Stupid question about hangers (Answer it anyway please!!)
The tech article on rods and hangers states:
"Hangers are identified by the letter stamped into the top of it, the lower the letter, the higher it holds the rods out of the jets, giving you more enrichment sooner. "
What does "lower" mean? Does a B hanger hold the rods higher than a G hanger or vice versa? Also, anybody know whic rods and hangers are in an 87 LG4 offhand? Thanks for the help.

You got it...B hangers hole the rods higher than G, etc. (each letter is a .005" increase IIRC.)
As for what your car has now...just look at it, it's stamped right on top of the hanger. Little doubt you have CH rods, but the hanger varied through years and chassis. Most likely you have somewhere in the H-K range.
