CARB OR TBI??????

I have an 89 camaro with a 305 TBI, I want to put in a 350. Would this TBI be enough to power my 350? Or would it be better to put on a Carb???? What all would i need to convert to carb?

You'll get more power from the carb!! My friend did the TBI swap and I just so happen to have a small list of the items you need for the swap!

* A mechanical fuel pump
* fuel line (about 10ft)
* A carb (obvious)
* a carb intake (obvious! Also, edelbrock air gap intake will NOT fit under a STOCK camaro/firebird hood)
* a non-computerized distributor (HEI vacuum advance is what he uses)
* Vacuum Line
* A throttle cable (from an 82-84 camaro/firebird with a carb....you can pick one up at a parts store)
* Throttle cable stud (will come with an edelbrock electric choke carb but not the edelbrock manual choke carbs...still trying to figure out why)
* Kickdown cable stud (again, will come with an edelbrock electric choke carb but not the edelbrock manual choke carbs)
* Carb studs (once again, will come with the electric choke carbs, not the manual choke ones)
* Mechanical Oil Pressure Guage (you have to disconnect the electric guage to disable the intank fuel pump that you have....if you don't disable it your intank pump will still kick on....NOT GOOD)
* Throttle cable bracket
* Air Cleaner (obvious....K&N is the #1 choice)
* Return spring and bracket

I think that pretty much covers the needed items for the TBI to carb swap!!

Need to know more....email my buddy that's actually done the swap at burnoutrpm@hotmail.com
or email me at pjstar@mo-net.com

I recently did a similiar swap(305 to a 350) i would stay with the injection. Everything you have right now will work with the new motor. That alone will save big $$$$$, and you will do better on gas.If it was mine i would leave it alone, not goin to gain that much power anyway without big mods.

I too have done the 305-350 swap in my 89 RS,I did keep the Tbi and it's really not that bad,although I do plan on getting a carb and intake someday.In other words if your happy with the results of the Tbi,then just keep it.
