quick double pumper question.

I ended up giving my friend back the carb he gave me and buying a 750 double pumper the carb has like 50 miles on it and has had old gas sitting in it for a couple of years now and I was wondering if it needs to be rebuilt or what I need to do to get this thing in running condition. It is in working condition but was wondering if I should freashen it up with any new parts or just clean it really good with carb cleaner and replace the gaskets and acelerator pump diaframs.

Also what type of squirters are the best tube type or is it a personal like/dislike thing?

Rebuild kits are about $25, plus maybe $10 in carb cleaner. it's cheap insurance against banging your head against the wall trying to figure out why it won't run right when you put it on.

Oh yeah, and as far as the different squirter thing, I use both types. The tube type you can drill out to larger sizes, while I think the nozzle type gives a cleaner shot. So, I use the tube type, play with enlarging the holes a few thousandths at a time till I get the shot about right, then buy that size in the nozzle type.

lol...thats my personal theory anyway. In reality once I get it running right in the tube type I don't bother replacing them..I just leave it as is.

Yea jester that is what I was thinking of I didnt' want to get the carb on the car and start having problems and not being able to narrow it down to carb, ignition, or what ever bad luck I am having that day.

Do you know which style of squerter is better a tube or the strait type?

I work for Oreillys auto parts so the rebuild won't cost me much at all I didnt' know if I wanted to get a trick kit or just a quick kit.

The reason I ask about the squrters is I have been told the tube type are better but I typically don't like to go off just one persons opinion when I don't know exactly what I am doing.

Thanks for the responce so far man

Go with the trick kit. The main difference is the gaskets are nylon instead of paper, but that makes it SOO much easier to deal with later.

I don't really think it makes much of any difference which squirter you get. I guess it is just personal preference..maybe another item to bench race over
