IROC78 is awesome

Just wanted to pass the good news on about IROC78. I have now purchased from him twice. He has good stuff and is an excellent communicator. He is honest, too. He accidentally quoted me over the shipping cost and let me know about it immediately. Definately worth doing business with. A++++++++++++++

IROC78, bad seller, will not uphold his word!

Well, I'm gonna nay say on this. I purchased a 89' 700r4 tranny from him that he said was a "working transmission". However when we pulled the pan we found CHUNKS of clutch material!!!

I called him up and he told me I could return it, he agreed to give me my money back for the tranny. When I called to setup a meeting he never answered, nor did he reply to ANY messages.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and waited a week to contact him again. NO response, so I left ANOTHER message, still no response. This has been going on for over a MONTH!!! Emails, phone calls, messages, private messages all go unreturned. If this is how he holds his word then think CAREFULLY before buying from him.

I have under several false email accounts contacted him about "parts" and he has responded to each and every one within a single day.

Brandon, I'm calling you out, I'm tired of waiting. If you do not return my money in return for the transmission I WILL take you to court. Make no mistake. If you didn't want to give me my money back you should have said so in first place. Not playing this childish game of ignorance. Yes, used parts are used parts, no warrenty implied. However, if you TELL me I can return something then I expect you to uphold your word.

I WILL confront you Brandon, I WILL resolve this one way or another. I have witnesses who saw the condition of the tranny. As well as people who were there when I called you that saturday.

I was there when we removed the old trans from his GTA.. when getting ready to install the new trans i said we should drain in put ina new filter and fuild one so it would be nice and clean and 2nd so it would be easyer tp put into place when we went to reinstall the trans... i first had a bead feeling as soon as i pulledthe york out of the trans and saw the thick brownish fuild... then after pulling the pan we ran a magnet in the fuild and found very large chunks of clutch material. the trans may of worked when bill got it but after putting in new fuild the trans was sure to slip like crazy... and just to make sure that the fuild didn't get mixed with crap that may of been in the pan befor the put the used fuild it in we washed out a different pan and dumpped the fuild out of the TQ and found the same thing....

I was there when bill bought the trans and when we were going to install it. Before installation we checked the fluid only to find huge chunks of clutch material. Enough to make me believe that this trans was on borrowed time.

Bill called brandon right away about this and brandon OFFERED a refund to bill if he returned the tranny. Bill has made repeated attempts to contact brandon via email, phone, private messages.

When we used an alias to inquire about parts, he was very prompt to respond, usually with in the same day. But for some reason bill waits with no response.

Brandon, be a man of your word. You told him you would give him a refund, so do it. Stop playing these childish games and start acting like a responsible adult.

Bottom line, stay away from IROC78, buy from Denny(LFN at U) instead, he is a stand up guy who would never jerk you around.

You swearing and hanging up the phone on me is when I was through dealing with you. That is not the way to treat someone who is going out of their way to help. What you see as childish I see as treating people how I am treated, and I will continue to ignore any form of contact from you. Take care, "Bill."

I've been buying and trading parts with Brandon for over two years now and I have always been treated fairly. I have never run into any problems with him or the parts that I received. In fact, he's given me parts when I was unable to afford them and told me to pay him when I get the cash. He's a stand-up guy and I would definately recommend him to other F-body owners.

Brandon, I never ONCE called and swore at you. I am upset yes, but after I called you on saturday I NEVER was able to contact you again.

I don't know who you have me confused with, but I never swore, I maintained a cool head throughout my emails. I can post the emails I sent to you. I have them all saved on my hard drive.

The last time I called you it had been over one MONTH after I contacted you on saturday, I left a message and I was VERY tired of the game. I didn't know why you were not returning my phone calls, emails, or messages. To this day you STILL have not read the private message I sent you. Message tracking still says so.

This was my last resort. Since you refused any contact with me I had no choice left BUT to post here.

If you didn't want to give me my money back you SHOULD have told me "no" in the first place. I would have been upset, but used goods are used goods. However, as a business man your WORD is your bond. You told me I could return it, then dissapeared to *** knows where. And Infact I WILL post the emails i sent you.

Sent 8/26/03. About one week after I talked to him on saturday.

Brandon, sorry about not calling you, or mentioning anything about the
trans. I've been pretty busy and I should have contacted you sooner about
finding a good time to return that 700r4. I've been working about 11 hours
a day for the past two weeks, things have been pretty busy.

If I can I'd like to drop the trans off and get the $200 back for the
tranny. I'm sorry that it didn't work out. My saying lately has been ****
happens and it does. I've had bad luck with transmissions lately.
My ONLY swear word that was sent in a email. And it wasn't even directed at you, or your character. I was talking about my tranny situation.

Sent 9/07/03

I sent you an email a while ago but you never responded. The tranny has been sitting in my garage for far too long.

xxx-xxx-xxxx
2nd email about returning the trans. Notice, I am STILL reserved and calm. I figured you'd been ignoring me, but i still wanted to give you benefit of the doubt.

Private message sent 9/16/03

Brandon, this is Bill, I bought that Tranny from you that turned out to have shavings
I've been trying to get ahold of you. You haven't returned emails, or cell phone messages I've left. The only reason I have not returned the tranny yet is because I don't want to show up and have no-one home! And I can't drive around everywhere with a tranny in the trunk, it doesn't work that way.

Brandon, I NEED to return this tranny, it wouldn't have lasted more than two weeks once I put new fluid in it, if you want I'll return the fluid too, just so you can see all the shavings we found in it. That tranny was on its way out.

Please call me, anytime after 9:00 on a weekday is fine. If not, just leave a message telling me when you will be home so I can return that transmission.

And now you aren't returning Emails, or phone messages. Its been near 2 months and i"ve been trying well over a month to get a hold of you. You TOLD me I could return it for my money, and when I tried to contact you to setup a time to drop it off you didn't respond. I've since left emails, and phone messages. Whats going on? I still have the transmission, I didn't do anything other than drain it when we were prepping it to go into the car. Thats when we found the debris in the fluid. I dont' care what you do with the tranny, sell it to someone else for all I care. But, you TOLD me on the phone that i could return it for my money.
Notice, I'm much more irate in this email. I still however refrain from ANY swear words. I was upset, but i made NO personal attacks against you. Brandon, I NEVER swore at you. In fact, I had no live conversations with you after the saturday of the tranny install. I called your cell phone, I left emails, I left private messages. Yet you didn't respond to anything. It was almost like you skipped town.

Brandon if you stand by your word then I WILL retract any statements about you. I probably won't like you, but thats not any concern as I wont' bad mouth you. Where you got the idea that I swore at you I don't know.

I too was also there when bill had his ONLY phone contact with brandon after we find the trans to have problems. Bill was upset yes, but not once did he swear at brandon, or hang up on him.

In fact, bill called last night to try and get this sorted out, and brandon hung up on him.

In fact, bill has like 8 people who were there when he was on the phone with you. Funny how none of us heard him swearing when we were 2 feet away.

In Brandon's defense

In Brandon's defense, I have had several transactions with him and have had no problems to date. I have found Brandon to be very honest and easy to work with as have many other members on the board. As I stated in my original message, Brandon even accidently overcharged me on shipping and owned up to it... he could have easily hid it and no one would ever have known.

I am sure that Brandon had no intention of screwing your friend and from what I have seen in the thread it may have been shavings not chucks, this is completely normal and they do gather up on the magnet. (There is a reason that they put the magnet in there.)

I do not know how far apart the transmission was taken, however, I would not even considered giving money back on a trans that was taken apart.

Brandon also told me that he had tested the transmission himself and found it to be in good shape. Have you bothered to install it to see if it works?

I dont believe he meant to either, brandon was nothing but polite to us, helpful, everything you could want. He even offered a refund for the part. Which to me makes him the best guy ever. But i believe he has bill confused with someone else, the only convo bill had with him on the phone i was there for. Nothing negative was said to brandon, many others can back that up.

It was chunks, i was the first one to point them out. The fluid was in really bad shape, if new fluid had been put in, it would of slipped for sure.

And we did not take apart the trans, we simply dropped the pan. I hardly call that disassembly. This could of all been avoided if brandon had just said, "sorry man, used parts are used parts" but he didn't. he offered a refund but never followed through.

We were not doubting if the trans worked, the question was how long will it work? Two months, two days, from the looks of the fluid, its time was limited.

No hard feelings to anyone, i just want my friend to not get screwed.

i have not talked to brandon in person nor am i saying that he is a bad person to get parts from but i am saying that when you see a transmission with BROWN fluid when it should be red then i personaly wouldn't of sold it. but if i did sell it i would sell it for around $50 and say that it needed to be taken to a show. again i'm not trying to put him down.. i have never had to deal with him i'm just saying what i saw.

Thats not the issue here. We only took the pan off to drain the trans. No internals were touched.

However, upon finding the chunks I called brandon up and explained what I found, and that I didn't trust the trans. So I asked if I could return the tranny and get my money back. Brandon aggreed. I said, "bye" and that was the last time I EVER held a live phone coversation with him.

I called him last night and got no further than, "Brandon, this is Bill....*click*" The phone died because he hung up.

I never once swore at Brandon in my dealings with him. I never accused him of shady dealings, or anything of the like. The reason I am so mad now is because he wouldn't even TALK to me. Brandon just up and started ignoring me for no reason. Either he's confusing me with someone else, or flat out lying. I'd prefer the first option as this could all be a mis-understanding. A case of mistaken identity.

Brandon, I am the one who came in a red Ford Ranger. I had a friend named Tim who bought a sway bar off you.
