The short story is this. A guy from the forum bought a cam from me a month or so back. My email messed up the other night, resent the you have money email from pay pal for a camshaft. Since I do not have a camshaft for sale anymore I thought someone made a mistake and had sent me money or someone thought it was still for sale.

So I refunded the money because I thought the email was new. The next day I looked at it again and saw it was over a month old. Crap.

I have emailed the guy, PM'd him and so on telling him I made a mistake and explained the situation. That happened on the 4th and I do not have my money back yet. I made a mistake, he has the cam.

I doubt I can do anything about this. The right thing is to send me my money back that I sent by mistake. So this guy is sitting with my camshaft and his money.

I am not going to say who it is because I still hope he does the right thing. It's been almost a week so I thought I would ask what others thought.

Contact paypal. Tell them you made the mistake and thought someone else sent you money. I'd Request payment from the person who paid you via pay pal. Its only right that he send the money back, because you made a mistake.

It's been ten days since I refunded the money. I have received one email back from and that was on the 9th. I contacted paypal and they are suppose to be contacting him. Yes it was my mistake but you think an honest person would send the money back.

Well generally most people will pocket it and say screw you. I had a lucky shot at one i did something similar and got my money back though gl. I mean todays market people get money they tend not to return it.

All I know about Sketchy is that he is hardly ever online if online ever. Always Drifting and working on his car. Surprised he was on 1 month ago. Which sucks since so many want to see what he is doing with his Camaro as far as Drifting but doesn't update anything on here.

He may just be away since I have only seen him on once in the almost 4 years I have been a member. AND I watch for him...

Don't worry, if Paypal doesn't get a hold of him, you'll get your money back. If they do get a hold of him, then he will see what happened and be a good guy and refund and if not refunded then come back and say something bad about him. But I think it'll all work out, its a mistake you made and it happens. Be patient, especially if you have already talked and responded with Paypal.

I understand it was my mistake, I think I have mentioned that several times. He may be a great guy but it has been (16)sixteen days since I refunded the money by mistake. It would take about twenty seconds to log onto paypal and send me the money back. All I have gotten from him is one or two line emails. I understand he is not out any money so there is no need for him to get in a hurry.

This is the first time I have had a bad dealing with someone on the internet and it had to be over something stupid like this.

It's pretty easy to understand what has happened. It's not complicated.

I said something bad about him because the amount of time that has went by with no response or action from him.

tbh i understand the predicament but it was a mistake it would be gr8 if he did refund you.. but since it's an online forum and ya'll don't really know eachother personally i don't think it will happen sadly :/ gl tho hope for the best

He lives in Virginia! Well it's been eighteen days now and still nothing. I don't know why I think "maybe" he will come up with the money. Ugh this pisses me off.

In all honesty, I just looked at his profile, and his last log-on was March 3, 2010 (almost 2 months ago). That's before you refunded back this money right?

Maybe he's one of those people that log on only a few times a year, and hasn't checked his emails yet

if its through paypal, and you did delivery confirmation i think they can reverse a transaction, not positive, or if you already tried it then i guess you know, just a thought

Paypal states that you must try and resolve this with each other first, then if this can not be fixed then Paypal has a 45 day limit on transactions, anything after 45 days they will not deal with. So if you have a claim in through Paypal (not just sent an e-mail, but an actual claim with claim number and results of the claim), just wait it out, it took almost 2-3 weeks before Paypal starting doing anything on one of my claims, which was an ebay problem. Was finally fixed and I went on with my life. Its like in shipping, once its out of my hands and in UPS hands its no longer my responsibility, anything that happens from then on is in the hands of the UPS company, same as with Paypal, once in there hands just sit back and wait for them to get back to you.

He finally responded to my email yesterday.

Long story short, after excuse after excuse he sent me my money back tonight.
