Dave MC seemed like a good seller from his rep and I by no means want to give this guy a bad rep but I purchased this console lid https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...nsole-lid.html from him on May 4th and about one week ago i've sent several pm's asking what the progress was on the console lid. He responded after a few attempts of sending pm's and said he'd look into it. Still have yet to hear back a week later, sent another pm, seen him online since then but no response? Anyone else had any issues with him? I hope something just went wrong and I didn't get scammed...Hope we can work this out Dave.

 

I bought and paid for a "mint like new" spare tire and hardware and never got anything either... he even strung out the paypal past the point I could try for a chargeback.

Good luck but I'm afraid to say it sounds like he screwed you over as well, a year later and I still never got the spare tire...

 

sigh...that sucks it was only $60 but still its the principle not the money although if I don't get the console lid I want a refund.

 

I have met the guy in person multiple times, and bought my hatch and various other parts from him. He seemed like a nice honest guy to me. He has a big warehouse full of thirdgens, and shelves full of parts too. After I moved across the country, I still bought more parts from him and had him ship them to me, whatever shipper he used did take a while but I got the parts, and they were as described.

 

Well, it's been a year on mine, and he never gave proof of mailing, just sob stories...

Maybe I should make a new thread about *My* transaction and keep it bumped to the top every week till he someday makes good...

 

I bought some hood struts and a hood latch from him two months ago and just got around to opening the box in the past couple of days. The struts are there but no hood latch. Im sure it was a mistake on his part and prolly no biggie. Im in no hurry anyways.

 

Sounds like the guy on ebay I bought one from. Within days he sent me a reminder invoice and I immediately paid. After receiving no other contact from him I sent an email threatening reporting him to paypal and ebay. He promptly replied with a sob story of a family tragedy and would return my money which he did. Below is cut/pasted from my Ebay account;

Dear grtpts2010,

It only takes a few minutes to reply. My questions were simple.
Tomorrow I file a complaint with paypal and ebay. I am not trying
to be a dick or taken advantage of. I will take a refund or the item.

I have bought from Dave MC and didn't have any problems. That doesn't help the guys that haven't received their stuff. Just my 2 cents. I feel that if you are selling on here, or anywhere, you need to be honest and get out the parts asap.

 

This guy sorta sounds like a douce. I mean when I sign on and see that I have pm's, I immediately check them. And if someone is paying me to ship out a part, i'll do it!

 

He said 2 weeks ago he would refund me my money via paypal. To this date no console lid and no refund!

 

Its kind of a recurring theme, following same path as happened to me, and others.

Guy really ought to be banned from the site in my opinion

 

He said he is going to ship my hood latch so we will see.

I've bought From dave without issue, but seeing things like this hanging out there certainly mean I won't do that again.

I would gladly post the PMs YOU sent me. Its not a matter of money its your word. If you were not going to send it just say so and ill go get one from somewhere else. DO NOT turn this back on me as i was going by the PM's where you stated, you were sending it out, then you needed my address again, then you "forgot about me", etc.. Dont worry about it, ill go get one this week.

 

After I gut out of the hospital I just didn't have the energy or desire to rush around packaging and shipping. I just wanted to get caught up and rest for a bit so I sent refunds to the 4 members I still had hanging. I will not be going back to work for a good amount of time if at all. If anybody still needs the parts I'll sell them for whatever they think is fair and get them out within 5-7 days. I also apologies for any messages that my have been rude I was not thinking clearly at times. Thanks

i also want to throw my experience out there with Dave, i paid for a hatch pull down unit he had available(my original name for the past 4 years was CaveCock on here, but i was asked to change it), when he found out it was shot he refunded my money within a few days, just gotta be patient and polite when dealing with good standing members, also sometime sending your PM ever couple of days helps, some of these members get swamped with PM's about parts and will overlook your pm very easily

 

Yep sent me two "good hood struts" and they don't work. Nice!!!
