Don't get me wrong, I love the yellow and all, but...well, I guess I'm just getting a little older and don't really want it to be so "flashy." I think the blue will be a little more subtle while still looking good all around. Besides, my all time favorite color for an interior is tan. NOTHING looks better than a clean tan interior. And yellow doesn't go with tan.

We sure do love our 'verts in Australia, including going to the trouble of having them converted to right hand drive....

Madmax- Absolutley love that car!
IroczVinnie- I'd love to see a pic of the dash if you have one. Want to see what you do about the dash when converting to right hand drive

ok - here we go - bought another cable.......long story.
I have a few photos highlighting some unique things with my right hand drive conversion.
There were a number of companys that converted these cars and most conversions are different in the detail.
I have shrunk the photo resolution so I can post them, so sorry about the loss of detail.

It could just be a replacement decal that was misplaced.

Are you sure it's an '88? The IROC decal went to the rear of the door in 1988.

all i've done is replace the regular stuff that goes wrong after 120,000 miles and add a dynomax catback and '92 GTA taillights. i just don't have the money or motivation to make it any faster than it is.
my soon to be restoration project... I picked this 88 iroc up back around Oct 2003, triple black, the poor thing was neglected so bad, its TBI automatic only, but it sat for a long time with a broken top and the floor pan rusted very bad and killed the interior, i'm just about to have the floors repaired and then i'm painting it, thats why no ground effects or spoiler are on. Its getting 92 style ground effects, 3" cowl hood, 92 dash/interior, TPI 350 with 5spd. also getting 3rd gen export taillights, the 17" wheels came on the car and will be staying....
here is my old 88 iroc z convertible, i bought it in September 2000, 355 carb 5spd, (engine swap trans conversion done by previus owner) i had it a month and it blew the engine. I then put in a 383 stroker with the best of everything, i never got around to doing the body before i had to sell it due to finacial reasons in april 2002 (try buying a brand new '01 Camaro SS and paying insurance at 21years old) o well, ... i missed it so bad, thats how the black one above came to be...

i got it mostly by being in the right place at the right time. i got talking to someone at a sign shop i was having do a decal for the window on my tbird. he told me that he had the car and had to get rid of it. it had sat at his parents house for 3 years untouched. they wanted it gone. it didnt run (bad computer). he's married w/3 kids and the condos where he lives dont allow cars with loud exhaust. he said take it or he was going to donate it to one of those charities. so needless to say i looked at it and like it.
just the right place at the right time and after he saw the amount of work i put into the tbird i think he knew the car was going to a good place. one of the best parts of the camaro is it has 73xxx miles on it.

My 89 TA
Here are some pixs of my 89 TA conv. 5.7L, dual cats, all original except tires, well documented, 26K miles, appraised 8/01 by independent appraisal co for State Farm Ins Co at $16000 cash value. I know I would b hard to get that from a buyer, but at least I am covered if the car was totaled out. Might be interested in parting as I have one child and one on the way.
All factory decals, ASC decals, ASC top instruction manual, window sticker, etc I have. Including documentation from ASC on number of conv. they made in 89. If anyone has doc on how many 5.7L were converted this would be great. I have read several postings and mag articles where they claim 50 5.7L verts were made. But no one can back this up with documentation, all hearsay.
Thanks,
Brent

So, I thought I'd throw mine up here...It's an '84 Firebird Convertible which was converted by Autoform of Elkhart Indiana. Other than that, I don't know too much more...

Glad to see a board dedicated to the 'verts! Here's mine....driven exactly once (New Year's Day, in fact!) in the last 4 months (this has NOT been a good winter for convertibles). The resto was done in '02...this year, we'll be doing some tuning with the fuel system, a new stereo, probably some accents on the flames and/or paint...and I'm still trying to decide on wheels. I like the Ronal Firehawks, but I'm not sure I wanna spend $1400 on one of the few remaining sets still around. I guess we'll see...

I've never seen so many gorgeous ThirdGen convertibles gathered in one thread before!
I'm a t-top guy myself, but around here the 'verts are so bloody rare you'd think they never made them!
