Need some idea's for 89 RS

I picked up a 89RS 5spd with 305TPI, Interior bad, top leaked for awhile. Rust by rear Licsense Plate, drivers door, etc. I plan on starting to take out the interior. Motor runs bad starter. So looking for some idea's for this project, looking to budget it. So people who have done this type of project let me hear from you. It has been warehoused since I got it a year ago.

I looked at doing what you are doing now when I re-did my car. I started acquiring parts from Ebay to re-do the interior. Before I got very far with that project I got lucky and photographed a wedding for the daughter of an Auto Upholstery man. He cut me a deal. I saved about 600 dollars on the price of a custom interior and top replacement. Next I did a similar deal on the tires this time the daughter of the GoodYear tire store. Same thing I saved about that much again on the set of GoodYear Eagles that are on the car now. Barter is a WONDERFUL thing! Unfortunatly I was unable to get a deal on the paint but with the money saved on the Top, interior, and wheels, I had a good start on paying for the paint.

OK if you don't have a way to barter for what you need My advice to you would be to look around for a Donor Car that has an interior in good shape. With obvious exceptions, much of what you need can come from a Coupe or T-top car. You can supliment what you need from parts sold on Ebay and you can sell the un-needed parts from the donor car to help mitigate the cost...

Let us know how it goes!

Good Luck!
