Hi to everyone,
I'm about to buy my first Camaro. Its a 1991 RS Convertible that is up for $2100. It has a few problems:-
Front fender dented, but owner is supplying a replacement.
Rear quarter panel dented, not too bad. Rear window in the convertible top is misted. Carpets are wet so I think it will need new weather stripping.
The Speedo is not working, Is this an easy repair?
The engine has been fully rebuilt and it drives and shift very well.
Is this a good price to pay?
Thanks,
Alex

If you figure to work it up to a decent shape with a couple thousand on top of what you are spending to buy it, then it's been my experience that you will not regret the purchase.
For me, it wasn't that I was buying JUST a daily driver. I was buying a piece of history. You know, back in the early 90's, late 80's when muscle car development was turning a corner.

Welcome!
I haven't been pricewatching convertibles, but regular ht/t-top cars go for $2-3K around where I live, so I'd say you're getting a good price. I'd also make him a lower offer, say $1900 or so. Don't ask him over the phone, but after you've looked at the car again, then pull the money out of your pocket (brand new $100s are the most impressive) and show him the money (fan it out) while making your offer.
As far as the speedo not working, you might want to check the VSS signal (the search button is your friend
) to make sure it's the speedo, and not something else.
You'll also want to stick that car in a hot garage for a week or so to dry out the carpet, or just plan on gutting the interior, airing everything out, and checking for rust.
Good luck.

I was going to gut the interior and clean it all as there is mold on some trim. The car was last on the road september 2004,since then its been parked up. It was taken as part payment and the guy who owns has it just sitting on his drive.
