The link you referenced is exactly how you should reapir it. I had three out of four of the plastic posts break on my spoiler when I fixed it. I used an epoxy specially designed for plastic, and it worked great.

 

I used two part epoxy also. Used the grinder to reestablish clean surfaces AFTER I lined up the correct posts in the correct positions. Seems to work just fine. The addition of two sided tape helps also.

 

the problem is two of the other plastic peaces broke in half and are gone on the ground somewhere.

 

Check the inside of your trunk carefully. They should be in there somewhere. If not, check with the local wrecking yard. Lastly, You may have to fabricate something yourself. Try a carriage head bolt, grind the top somewhat flat and line it up and epoxy it. To get the proper linement, First epoxy the ones you already have, let them harden. I would then put the carriage bolts into the trunk lid with washers and nuts holding them in place. I would apply a liberal amount of epxoy to the tops of the bolts and set the spoiler on top of them using the studs you have already epoxied to line it up. Hold it there until the epoxy hardens, take the entire thing off and then re-epoxy the carriage bolts to make sure you have good coverage.

Two part epoxy is easy to use. Get the one with two syringes hooked together. Apply it to a smooth surface and mix the hardener and resin together very well. It doesn't take all that long to dry.

 

thanks for all the help everyone. i decided to have my dads friend help me fabricate some aluminum studs in all four places. i found that i had two of the plastic pieces that broke off the spoiler,but i will keep those on the side. this aluminum shoudn't break now. i will take pics of what it looks like. it should be done in week or so. thanks again, bryan
