Convertible tops interchangable?

I have a spare 1991 convertible top. Will it fit on my 1989?

No. 1990-92 used a slightly different size top than 1989 models.

I'm now taking new pics in VGA mode with my Sony camera, they look good thus far and about the right size too. I'll be posting the hardware/frame etc of mine as it's about to get replaced.
I bought a tops on line cloth one listed for Camaros, but yes, that difference is noted... Camaro to firebird though, should be possible At least in my case...it is an '89

Thanks for the offer, but I am keeping the top. I have two convertibles, an '89 and a '91. I am trying to swap parts between the two.

Is your top new for the '91?

If so, where did you get it and for how much?

Curious,

~C

My top from the 1991 is in immaculate condition. The '89 is not as good. Thought I could switch but not so.

$400 seems to be the bottom price for a good, canvas Camaro top.

I was a little confused by your question. The top material will not interchange but you can take the 91 top frame and put it on your 89. I did that mod on my 89 RS convertible so I could have a lined top. I also got a good deal on a complete 91 frame and top so it was a no brainer for me.

New question

I've got two convertibles, an '89 and a '91. Does this mean I can take of the convetible top as one unit and place it onto the 1989? The top from the '91 is much nicer.

thanks.

Yep. The entire assembly is held down by 4 1/2" nuts.
