i got it fron top's online , yeah 500 was high i thought , i guess i could have drove the 3 hour trip where you are at and saved 250 huh? main reason i wanted it was cause i had all my windows tinted except for the back one , also the plastic scratches easy. actually i helped the guy a little too and it didnt seem all that hard to replace , if i ever have t get another one i think i will do it myself.

nice, so you got the $400 StayFast top, + $140 or whatever for a new headliner. Luckily for me my headliner was still good, so i didnt' need a new one. glad to see another topsonline.com buyer happy with the product. i love mine, and i'll never have to get another one unless i run into a situation like yours

I thought the bare bars looked kind of cheap.

even if this is true, you could still put one in an older convertible if you wanted to

Yeah it's just a rumor or something?!?

I just checked, 1990 was the change over year, 89 and below do not have them. The top frames did change through out the years, so putting a headliner in an older one may not be as easy as it seems.

true they did change the frames somewhat, but if you notice the change in size of the 2 different tops from those years, it's only like 1 or 2 inches of change in the width. so i'm sure you could get a headliner to fit in an older one with little or no modification

My 89 has the 51&1/2 inch b bow, which makes it a 90-92 frame i belive, and its got screws on the first bow and some subsequent bows, which look like places for headliners.. i thought i'd order one and see if it would fit in there. I didnt know if they all came with them or not.

1989 is the change over year. If you have an '89, you should have a headliner. My '89 does, my '88 doesn't.

Rhino, this is a sweet ride. And being a 5-speed, it is ridiculously rare for a car that is only 14 years old. You should have no trouble selling this. The back glass looks great. I've got to get my top replaced soon. Thanks for mentioning topsonline.

Do the tops come in different sizes for different years? I read on one site that there is like a 1/4" here and a 1/2" there different between the years. If this is the case, how do you make the measurements?

i dont know about Rolla...i just go to school here. i'm from St Charles and i had it done at an upholstery shop there. i'm sure there's somewhere in Springfield of Rolla that would do it though.

it's all a difference in the width of the top. measure from side window to side window using a tape measure. or if you dont trust your own measurement any upholstery shop would be more than happy to measure it for you

i should probably get out my receipt, wherever it is...i've been saying $250 all this time but now that i think about it i think it might had been $300 and not $250 oh well, $300 is alot better than $500

i had it done at an upholstery shop called Auto Tailors in St Charles, MO. small shop, but they have good pricing and they do good work

Did you get the canvas or the vinyl top?

I've visited topsonline.com and can't find the top for my 92 t/a, but obviously they carry it since you got one.

From what I can tell, it doesn't fold ... it is smaller than the plastic window.
