88 5spd 3.45 convertible Sale .....I think.
Greetings from New Havenish CT,
Selling my 88 as above.
Car has 100 k miles. Original 5 speed with new clutch , battery, alternator -
Have the original baseball shift ****. All original leather/cloth interior save for Grant GT steering wheel & Hurst shifter. Rear speakers removed. ( BTW LOVED the articles on 6X9 speaker installation in the other forum). The car has the original 305 5 speed manny, 3.45 aussie posi rear end , 4 wheel disc brakes, and the G92 package.
Hypertech chip & 160 thermo...have original chip. Crappy stereo in it...again.....have original.
ISSUES:
Have receipt for Brand new Canvas top for 900. So what next? Driver's side convertible frame cracks! *@@)(*&()&!@!!!!! This is cheap GM stamped metal. I may purchase a frame altogether, and marry the parts. Top is operational, but you will want to make that repair. (NOTE: Canvas top is fine!
The car had the ornamental light bar BOLTED to the Floor for rigidity. This suited the 5foot6inch auto repair enthusiast who owned the car before me. It did NOT suit my 6 foot self, and after several WHACKS on the back of the head, I removed said impediment to my driving enjoyment.
There is a slight 4 inch long by 1/2 inch wideX 1/2 deep cut in the
tonneau over the trunk. And lastly you'll need the cable bracket to pop the top.
Paint is very agreeable. No issues. Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Brakes Wheels (original spotless 16 inch IROC Rims) and Kumho tires are in excellent repair.
The best we can determine is that this car may be one out of 45 cars produced with this rare set of options. Needless to say, most of them are no longer in existence. All the Joeys wrecked them in High School when their Dads gave them the cars as graduation gifts.
The automatics are selling at the mid 8's - 10 k range in very good condition,
and the 5 speed cars are soaring well above that. Asking 12 k here - 14k on autotrader. If you think that that's too high..don't cry to me. I'll hold it until the 2008 Camaro comes out. Then what will the car be worth?
((((((((((GRIN)))))))))))))))
Looking forward to your inquiries - Pics and receipts in hand.
