Car worth it or not?
1992 Z28 Convertible. Auto, body has roughly 130k mills on it. motor is a L98 350 crate motor with 53k on it. new top and some ner parts here and there, grey cloth interior, purple haze exterior. mostlikely has power windows and doors and all that. in basicly origional condition.
I'm going to see it tomorrow, so i dont know how nice it is yet. but if its pretty much fust free and accident free and paint and interior have average wear, what do you guys think it would be worth?
i'll get the rpo code list and some pics tomorrow, and might make him an offer
are the purple cars common? i know their not as common as red black and white.
thanks

$5000 to $8000 depending on condition, and whether or not its a real Z28, deduct about 20% for an RS.

well i checked it out today.
paint job is 1/2 ***
didnt put the ground effects back on the correct way,
top is newer but vinyl and hes missing one of the weathersrips for the drivers b pillar
spoiler isnt mounted in the right spot, and trunk is too far back.
no side moldings.
no power options at all !
and a decent size dent right under the 1/4 panel spoiler on the drivers side.
would need a nice new paint job to make it look better.
said he'd take $5,500 and i left. dont know if he'll go lower or not, but nowhere near what i was looking for in a car.
found a 98 LS1 trand am vert that i might buy next week with 32k miles insted.

One thing I have noticed is the 3rd gens are appreciating, they really have not changed in value and are actually slightly increasing over the past 10 years or so. THe 4th gens are still going down, it will be interesting to see what happens when the 5th gen arrives in 2009. Honestly I think you will be better off with the LS1 TA than the RS
