Another roll cage question

I am interested in installing a cage in my 89 vert for safety and structural reasons. My concern is that I want to leave the back seat useable so the tubes that run from the main hoop to the rear frame will kill the usefullnes of the rear seats. So the question I have is will a cage consisting of the main hoop and the door bars stiffen the car as well as add safety without the rear bars ? I know a cage will make it hard to acess the rear seats even without the rear bars. I have already installed alston sfc's and they did make my car alot stiffer but I plan on installing a lsx in it sometime soon so the added strength will be needed.

It won't really help without the rear bars. with alot of mods you could make the rear seats usable but you won't have the crossbars in the back. I am going to be starting on mine in a month or two.

I like how the rear bars look maybe I can come up with another way to run them were they don't go right over the rear seats. I definatly can't use the cross bar in the main hoop.

TPI, not sure what seat option that car had, but my seats touch the box that the shoulder harness is in. There is next to no space between the fliplid and seat in mine.

Re: Another roll cage question

TPI I have studied the pictures of your cage and I like your install, but if I run the rear bars as you have the rear seats will not go all of the way back as said in a earlier thread my seats sat right up against the flip lid with no space to spare. I also had a concern of the rear bars hitting the heads of anyone that sat in the rear.
