Convertible top fit question (Appreciate your help)

Looking at aa 1988 iroc vert. Nice condition. Newer top. Question. Not real knowledgable about verts. When bringing the top up, it locks in fine front and back, however on the side at the back of where the door and window meet the top and rear quarter the top does not connect down anywhere on either side. It flares up a bit. So, if it were to rain it would obviously leak. Is this normal, or should this arer of the top be latching down somewhere. Any help would be appreciated, I'm deciding if this vert is worth buying. No sure if this is normal or easily fixable? Thanks!

Re: Convertible top fit question (Appreciate your help)

The top only latches down in one place, in the very middle on the tonneu cover. There is a pin that goes into a hole and locks into place. Other than that, the only thing between the top and the tonneu cover is a piece of weatherstripping. And a lot of times the top will pull away from the frame along the edges and curl up like what you described. This can be repaired with some strong adhesive if you have the time and patience to deal with it yourself, or an upholstery shop would be able to repair it rather quickly. Basically what has happened is the adhesive just gave way and the top is no longer stuck to the frame in that area. I hope this helps.
