HELP ME SAVE MY IROC
HELP ME SAVE MY IROC
So i have an 89 Iroc Z convertible. I love the car, hate the top. It is JUNK. Just recently the frame completely snapped in two. I live in Minnesota, and though i'm not driving it this winter, i want to be able to use it in the spring. Does anyone know the best way to fix my top? I need a new frame, new latch, and a new top itself. Im only 17 and even though i work two jobs, money is tight. I also have minimal tools and a small poorly lit, unheated garage. HELP ME. Should i take it in to a shop and let them fix it or is this something i can do on my own? Where can i buy a new frame? And any guestamate how much this is gonna cost me? Unfortunatly if i cant get this fixed by spring, I might have to sell it. I dont think my winter beater is gonna make it that long
Thanks, Brett

I'd search a junkyard or two, or the classifieds here or ebay for a junked out convertible and take the top out of it and put it in yours. You may have to spend a grand on a roller car, but you can turn around and part the rest of the body parts and get most of your money back.

post some pics of the top frame !! maybe we can tell by looking at it if it can be welded back on or what not. I cant picture the frame breaking like you said. Maybe RUst ?? who knows we need pics.
Hey my top is Toast .. heck I dont even have a back window but does that stop me ?? Hell NO ! and even then I still get thumbs up .. Keep your head up.. if it can be welded back on .. find a shop, talk to the guy maybe he does side work at home ... buy him a 12Pk of Natural High whatever a few bucks and weld that back on.

ITs all that GLOBAL WARMING, or as Al (idiot) Gore puts it "Climate Change" That is why it is so cold and why it probably broke.
