1988 Iroc Convertible
I am new to the convertibles. I just bought this 88 IROC.

Are all convertibles ASC or are selected ones? How can you tell if there is a difference?

Re: How many ASC verts in 88?
urs looks to be an asc not all of them were but all of the factory ordered verts were... several companies converted them outside of the dealer there should be a sticker on the d/s door near the latch also i think one of the digids in the vin will be a 3 i forgot wich one if it's an asc

Re: 1988 Iroc Convertible
On the driver's side door, near the latch, do you have an ASC sticker?
I moved your post from the existing 1988 ASC thread since it probably deserved to be in a new thread.
Nice car.

Re: 1988 Iroc Convertible
Thanks everyone...I can't wait until next year because the 88 vert black/silver trim and my blk/gold trim 92RS are going to take some car shows and cruises by storm...just have to keep my lead foot wife away from that 145 mph on the IROC....
Here is the '92

...at this point I am going to sell my '86 but who knows what might happen in the spring, I might change my mind and decide I need or want 3 Camaros...lol

Re: 1988 Iroc Convertible
Literally got it from a friend of a friend. Suffice to say I got lucky. Was not looking for a vert or another Camaro but the car was too good to pass up. Gentle 70,000 miles, NO RUST, original paint with no clear coat issues, all the right RPO's including G92, garage kept/stored in winters & driven gently in summers, T.P.I., new Kuhmos with refinished 16" IROC's, clean interior, new top, all stock, etc., etc.
Sometimes you just have to make a move when a good deal comes across your desk. Even my wife agreed I had to buy it...lol.

Re: 1988 Iroc Convertible
For sure T. But it won't be until next spring as it's in storage for the winter now. Yes you and I will go over it with a fine tooth comb for next years "show" season. I don't plan to drive this vert a lot, mainly on days when I can ride with the top down. In Chicago that is not a lot of days. It is a nice compliment to my 92 25th Anniversary though and both should win a lot of awards in the future. I plan to enter them together to increase my chances of winning.

i have a feeling your one of those people that throws a fit whenever you dont win anything. I go to car shows and have fun instead of polish on my car like im working.

Now I have another car that my wife can enter and compete with. I believe in doing things as a couple. In the past the car show has kinda been my thing but she wants to get involved and now we can do it together.
I also don't have to polish my car but once or twice a year. I don't ride dirty. It's always clean car show or not.
Kind of funny how you can make a determination about me but you don't know me. I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go round...oh well....

i was just making a determination on how some people at car shows when they get beat by a car thats actually driven and that someone built themselves for 20-30k, againt there 6 digit car that they trailer. But what you said was kinda like o wow heres another one ya know....
Its good to know that you are one of those that has a nice well taken care of car and hopefully you drive it and have an absoloute blast with it. Sorry for the misinterpretation. Keep em' clean

While I don't see the '88 being a Daily driver she will be driven on nice days in the summer. I don't want to run the mileage up too much since it's kinda low but at the same time I don't want the car to be a statue. I will keep both the '88 and my '92 in pristine condition. And I don't own a trailer but I do have a nice 2.5 brick garage and every thirdgen deserves a nice garage.
I just want to go to car shows and be able to take two cars that can compete.
