cleaning/restoring my current top?

Hey guys, well I bought an obviously neglected 91 T/A convertible last summer. My top looks pretty ratty as a result, but I'd like to keep it and clean it for now since it's solid and holds out water, except for automatic car washes (GOD that was a stupid idea!!! ). It's got some sort of stains, probably mold, along the edges. What would you recommend cleaning them with? This top isn't that great, but with a good cleaning I'm certain it'll look a 100 times better and might let me delay replacing it by a year or two. Here's a picture:

I don't have a good answer to this. I am interested in Top Cleaning as well...

My black top was brown when I got my '92, I tried all kind of cleaners till the wife found SCOTCH-GARD OXY best cleaner I've ever found.

any kind of detergent or even dishwashing soap and a stiff nylon bristle brush and actually scrub it it will be a lot better looking than you think.

Bit of a brag - I was recently interviewed by Barry Meguire & the Car Crazy crew while at a big run out in New Zealand - He was telling me about his vert cleaning stuff & sounds REALLY good. Keep an eye out during Speedweek in July I think in the USA, My father & brother & I were all interviewed. Me with the vert, Dad with his 67 GT350 Shelby & bro with 2009 AC Cobra Replica

He had a cleaning product as well as a protectant prodict as well

I agree. My choice of brush is a well-cleaned, well-used nylon tire brush. The fact that it's old makes the nylon stiff with some give, and I like a hair-type shampoo for the cleaning agent. both have worked well for me in the past.

I'd try to first clean it with Mequiars M71 Canvas Cleaner followed by the M72 Canvas Protectant.

Good luck.

What retailer sells this? I like the Meguiars products and would just go with them if I can find it locally at my parts store.

I believe the Canvas Cleaner has been discontinued. You can buy the protectant on line.... I went to a local boat/marine store and p/u canvas cleaner & 303 protectant. Worked very well.
