removing rear spoiler?
Hey guys, I'm thinking of removing the spoiler (all 3 pieces) on my 91 Trans Am vert for paint. But I heard that removal/installation is pretty tricky with those. Any tips? And how can you remove the outer 2 pieces? Are those clipped or glued down? Thanks!

Re: removing rear spoiler?
The side pieces are attached with a sticky double sided tape. Carefully remove them with a fishing line or putty knife. Do not pry the piece. The spoiler is attached with plastic studs that were glued to the underside of the spoiler and have a threaded bolt molded in the center. A nut secures it from inside the trunk under a black plastic cap you remove. Youre may have two side screws or pop-rivets that attach a angle clip to a hat-shaped clip that is pop-riveted to the decklid. If screws, then just unscrew one and the clip will slip off and you can remove the spoiler. If a pop-rivet, then you'll need to drill out one to remove the clip and the spoiler. There is or was also an adheve tape that secured the rearmost part of the spoiler to the decklid. Don't lose the black plastic trim piece that protects the front of the spoiler from the paint. I still haven't found a suitable replacement yet for it.
