Introducing myself and vert to the site

A little about myself, new to this site but not to camaro's, this is the 4th camaro I have owned and 2nd 3rdgen. I live in the Nashville, TN and share the love for camaro's.

The car 92 RS Vert. with the help of a few good friends we have swapped the 305 TBI for a LT1 and installed a hotcam at the time of the swap. The car also received a T56 at the same time of the LT1 swap. The car also has a 9" with a locker and 4.30 gears and a Nitrous Outlet hard line set-up currently on the 150 shot. Here are a few shots of the car it now has chrome Z06 wheels with 305/38/18 Nitto DR's on the rear and 285/35/17 Nitto 555 on the front.

smokin' - that third picture (Rear quarter, top down) really does accentuate how timeless these cars are - or perhaps just how gracefully they've aged

Keep it looking pretty bro!

Couldn't have said it better myself. You have a beautiful car, a fine example of IMHO is the best-looking convertible ever designed.

Re: Introducing myself and vert to the site

Thanks guys, the car has come along way since I purchased it. I bought the car to use as a DD but you can see how that worked out.

I feel the same way about the lines of the 3rdgen verts I wanted one for years because I think its one car that looks good with the top up or down, defiantly sexy with the top down!

The car is a ball to drive as well. With the 4.30 gears and a 6 speed the car even feels good on motor now.

To be honest with you about the color it wouldn't have been my first choice but now that I have owned the car for couple years it has really grown on me to the point when I repaint it I will keep the green and the top is new so hopefully it won't have to be placed anytime soon.

Here are few of the engine bay and interior. This car was bone stock when I purchased it, as you can see there has been a lot of changes included new interior and top.

Thanks again, no need to be jealous. lol

Dropping the LT1/T56 in wasn't bad at all, I did have a lot of experienced help though. The good friend of mine that has helped me with this build had already completed this to his car so we have basically built his car all over again.

What modifications did you have to do if any for the LT1-T56

Re: Introducing myself and vert to the site

Thanks Guys! The swap did turn out clean, we took our time with it to make sure it looked clean. Thats one of the things we are known for with our cars is the attention to detail we put into them so they are as neat and clean as possible.

As far as modification goes when installing the LT1/T56 we had to clearance the k-member for the ac compressor and the headers (I wasn't going to beat my headers in for clearance, hints another attention to detail to make it as clean as possible). We also removed all of the factory wiring and factory pcm and installed the 4th gen wiring harness and pcm. All of my gauges lights etc work just like factory except my speedo, which I could get working but just haven't felt like buying the electronic module and hooking it up. lol There are a few other small modifications but those are the most in-depth mods that were made.

Yes you do! The 9" has been a great mod. Try putting 4.30 gears in a 10 bolt and see how long it last. Depending on what you do with your car the locker is defiantly a plus as well.

Re: Introducing myself and vert to the site

Nah I've ridden in a locker car and didn't like how it behaved around town. Mine isn't a track car, I like to cruise around town and go to car shows and stuff . I really do want some steeper gears though like 4.10's and a 9"

Re: Introducing myself and vert to the site

True the locker isn't for everyone, the car does handle totally different. I do drive my around town, cruise-ins, shows etc. but it also sees track duty. I am setting it up for the track right now thats the reason for the locker.

You should like the gears when you go to a 4.11. I will put it this way my car makes 320 rwhp NA and the car feels good on motor with the 4.30's and on the jug it feels real GOOD.

Re: Introducing myself and vert to the site

Mine *should* be around 450rwhp...I'll know next month when I throw it on a dyno. The cam that is in it is an extremely high end cam, so the 3.42's that are in the car right now are probably hurting it more than the stock, un-ported throttle body The cam peaks at 6,300 and the rev limiter is set at 6,800

Very nice! I've always liked the dark green and tan combo. I love the look of the vette rims as well. Mine's completely stock but I'll definitely be getting a set of those for mine.

Mine is making 465 rwhp right now and it absolutly loves the 4.30 gear BUT its not that great on the interstate. It is sitting around 2500rpm's at 70 mph use to be 2500 rpm's little over 80 lol with the 3.42. Sounds like there is a lot left in your car!

Thanks! We went the extra step to make it as clean as possible and make it look like it was stock.

I was originally going to keep A/C I even still have the compressor on the car now but since I have changed directions with the car I have already bought the delete pulley and delete box.

Thanks! The Z06 wheels went on the car when I first swapped to a 4th gen rear (which that went away for a 9") because they were cheap, after getting them on the car I realized how much I like them and just recently swapped to a set of chrome Z06 wheels with 305/35/18 drag radials on the rear. The 305 looks real nice on the rear of the car.

Last year it ran a 8.90 in the 1/8 of course with the 10 bolt and 3.42 gears, stock suspension, street tires and without any nitrous.

So we will see what happens this year should be taking it to the track soon. Mods since last year include a 9" with 4.30 gears, adj TQ arm, boxed lca's with new poly bushings, (thanks Tricked out) adj. panhard bar, bmr dragbar and 3 way adj. shocks, and the nitrous set up on the 150 pills.
