I have an '83 Camaro Autoform. The door stickers were removed during the last paint job (before I purchase the car).
Attached are a few pics.
One question I have is: How does the rear hatch release mechanism work for these cars? My car does not have any release mechanisms and the hatch must be opened by putting a finger under a small opening and pulling up. Not exactly the easiest way to raise the hatch!

Any help is appreciated. -Thanks, Dan
hi, do you have the middle button on center console to pop the trunk latch or is it broken?
Since this post, I installed a middle button and found a used hatch latch and installed it. My latch may be weak though as it will not quite open the rear unit. Also, the shocks seem to be weak as the lid does not spring up the way a normal hatchback would pop up. This is good though as I don't want it to fly up while driving down the road! Other than that, the cal looks and drives great!
I just bought this 1984 Camaro Z28 Autoform in Norway. Its in pretty good shape. Is it possible to get repro rubber parts that are special for the Autoform conversion?

Beautiful car. I have added your car to the registry. Can you reply with the conversion date as well? Sorry that I don't have an answer to your specific question.
My impression is that the manufacturer painted my car 65 but Autoform repainted it 55. Anyone ever seen that or seen a dark gold autoform (Almost looks brown).
1. Model year: 1984 2. Model: Trans Am 3. Color: Currently white, inside the color is (55) Light Metallic Gold. The car was originally (65) Dark Metallic Gold. 4. Autoform Production # on door: unk. It's funny but "out in plan sight" I looked at my drivers side door and there it was, my Auto Form Number 01863. I have 1984 IROC Z28 Roadster. 305 CID, 5 speed, AC, with after market alpine stereo. It was originally painted Yellow/gold with Yellow and black pin stripped upholstery with a manual black top. I bought it at a federal auction. They said it belonged to a drug dealer. It has HIachi suspension and racing wheels with a beefed up frame,(too minimize twist). It is now black on black. Sexiest car I've ever owned. Women can't stop asking me for a ride in it. Has anybody got any idea of what these cars are worth?
