Worked out a deal with a good friend of mine, I ended up taking home a gorgeous '89 5.7 GTA convertible. Just under 34k miles, Flame Red over tan leather, tan top, all stock aside from a Flowmaster muffler. The car just looks, runs, and drives incredible. I couldn't possibly be happier with it! This is also the first car my wife has ever gotten truly excited about, which is very cool.
Beautiful car! You are the third guy I've known who owned it.
Thank you! Funnily enough, I've known of the car for the past 10 years or more. I approached Jason to buy the car in fall of 2021, but he got cold feet and I was no longer in a position to buy the car by the time he cane around again. Glenn bought it from him and did a lot of work to the car, he and I became good friends, but I still wasn't in any position to buy it until things turned around this year. I called him about it in February and we made a deal, and not 3 days later a friend of his asked about buying it. I very nearly missed out again!

I saw it at ThirdGen Expo several years ago and met it's owner, when it had that custom interior. I met Glenn a couple of years ago, again at Expo after he returned the interior to OEM. Fantastic car! Congrats again!
Thank you much! I've seen your car over the years, it's beautiful as well. Hard to beat gray with gray leather, about as sleek as it gets in my opinion.
I took the car to FirebirdFest this year, it ran and drove flawlessly. Presented well at the shows and it was a joy to be behind the wheel for 1,100 miles. Just over a cool 35k on the car now.

Not likely, I'm not huge on parking lot shows and it sounds like it's gotten pretty political in recent years. But, maybe someday! I may make it to the Indian Uprising this year, but mostly because it's pretty local to me. My wife picked up a 30th Anniversary TA vert earlier this year, so we're trying to make some more Pontiac shows together.

Ahhh thats people that take things too serious. I have been going for awhile, it isn't too political at all. There have been a few people over the years too wound up, they are the same type of people that would be angry if they lost a friendly game of touch football or rec baseball... just too serious to have fun.
The show is a field of amazing people and their cars. It is laid back with the show field, not like the Pontiac Nationals. Take the 30th to it, get a feel.

Re: '89 GTA convertible added to the collection!
Take it to the Trans AM Nationals, I have come to the point where I just show my cars for Display only. It takes a lot of stress off of the weekend. I did not attend the last few years, but hopefully I will in 2026.
It is one of the few shows I go to if I am going to go to a show, even though it is 4 hours away from me.
