convertible tonneau removal

I am in the initial stages of the prepping my 88 Iroc convertible for painting and want to remove the tonneau so I can prep and paint the entire car. How do I go about this? Any things I need to be aware of when removing or re-installing? Looking to all the good folks here to keep me from screwing up the tonneau...

Re: convertible tonneau removal

Apply some heat and be very careful. It's not bolted down, the only thing holding it on is adhesive. You may have luck using windshield removal wire.

Wow! I did not know it was attached with adhesive...I thought it might have some rivets...I knew the spoiler extensions had screws and adhesive and I do know how to remove those alright. I need to lift up the tonneau and really look it over... Thanks bluezee I will check it all out again.
