Anyone know where I can buy the trunk lift support struts or have a part number?
Thanks
Thanks

The local parts houses carry them but may have to order them and Im not for sure if they sell them each or a pair.
There are several people on eBay selling them for around $30 pair NEW.

Bought mine off rock auto. Even though they were listed as trunk struts, I'm not sure they were the right ones. I bought new ones because I was having to lift open the trunk myself. I figured it would have automatically lifted it with a little initial help - not so much. It holds the trunk up once it's open but doesn't open it on its own. Think I paid about $30 shipped.Originally Posted by insomniac

They also carry other lifts for hatchs and hoods.

That's the ones I was going to order and most likely the brand that O-Reilly's carries.Originally Posted by tsev

I used auto zone stk# 193475 $15 each. Mine work great. Never used an AZ strut before, but working great
Are the lift supports supposed to lift the lid or just hold it up? Mine holds it up but will not lift it.

On a hot day the struts actually lift the hatch (the gas gets hot and expands enough to lift it) on a cold day it will hold up but wont lift it.
Are they supposed to work better than that when they are new? I would think if they lift it when it is a warm day then it should work the same on a cold day? correct? I will order new ones if they are supposed to work during all seasons. thanks.

Mine only held up the trunk so I replaced them.... new ones did the same thing. They apparently won't lift only hold up.

They are helping to lift the trunk. It's amazing how heavy that trunk lid is to open without the help of the lift supports.
i went with the strong arm ones and it lifts it fine
