1992 Camaro Convertible Dash

I have a 1992 Camaro Z28 convertible that I am in the process of selling. One of the potential buyers was looking for an all original car. I told him my car was all original with only 10K miles on it. I send him many pictures of the car. The pictures of the dash showed the simulated wood grain paneling which has kind of a clear plastic coating over it. It is attached to the dash and console with numerous screws on each piece so it is not just stuck on there with glue. I thought that this was part of the 25th Anniversary package or the Heritage package. He claims that this was not a factory option and it had to be a kit that someone added to the car. I sent him all the 3 digit manufacturing codes that were on sticker on the inside of the console storage compartment but I do not know if these codes would address whether the wood grain was installed in the factory or not. Does anyone know of this wood grain on the dash and console was a factory option or was it an after market kit that someone put on the car. Thanks for the help.

That wood trim kit is not original from GM. I'm pretty sure I have seen your car on Ebay, and that was the only thing that I immediately recognized as not correct for the car.

If it were mine I would be removing it, but if it is using screws then not quite should what I would do. Are the screwed area the ones around the shifter area... Small torx screws? Post a couple pics. I'd like to see if this is the red and black Heritage Z28 I think it was.

Thanks for the info. really didn't know if it was factory or aftermarket. The good part is that I think it looks great.

Doesn't matter if you like it anymore... It matters if the prospective buyer likes it! Good luck on the sale. Hope you get your asking price!
