White 88 IROC Vert
Greets all,
noob to this forum but not immune to the disease we all have....cars!
looking at a 88 Vert, CA car, TPI, 60k orig.
looks very straight, waiting for more pics. Can pick up for $7k and since I'm an auto transport broker, shipping here to Dallas, $500. Look like it will need a new nose bit can get that taken care
of for about $700 painted
As long as there is no warts on the Carfax is this a decent deal. I want to drive is for a few months then resell it.
anything I need to watch out for on these cars? I've had 2nd and 4TH GENS but know nothing about these.

If exposed to lots of bad weather & salt 3rd Gen's can rust under the shock towers and that's a pain to fix.
With a CA car should be good. All the moral stuff applies of course.
Just like with 4th Gen's the pinion seal is prone to leak with age. Check the differential fluid when you get the car. I'd change it. May need a pinion seal. Make sure it's hand tool tightened and not done with an impact. Way to easy to over tighten and cause issues later. I always put GM posi additive in even if it's not a posi. Kept my RS's old 10 bolt quite for 389,500 miles.
There is a space between the AC condenser and radiator that tends to get leaves and stuff in it. It's easy to clean out
Helps the AC cool better.
Closing the doors by the door, NOT the window glass helps keep the windows tight in the tracks so they seal better for less wind noise and fewer leaks in my experience. Same as is true for other cars.
BTW - there are a lot of convertible unique parts. For example the front seat belt retractors are different than ttop or hard top cars.
I had a black 91 RS convertible I bought in 2014, kept for a few years, proved to be an excellent car. Sold only to repair my TA after it was stolen.
Black Echo 91 RS convertible, had pinion seal leak as mentioned above.
