I recently picked up a 1991 Firebird conv in need of a LOT of love and one of the issues I am having is that the tonneau cover wont stay up when trying to put the top down. I looked in the trunk at the two metal bars and I dont see a way to adjust the tension. Im I missing something? Anyone else have this issue before? I tried the search but found nothing.

 

With no direct knowledge, the rods should be a torsion bar arrangement. Usually there's a series of holes or hooks on either side at the ends of the rods. The rods should sit in a different set of holes or hooks to adjust the tension.

 

No holes or hooks that I see. Thats why I posted. Dont know how to adjust them or even if they can be adjusted.
