These were torn when I bought the car 5 years ago. Since then I've done an amateur resto and had the top replaced. However, they tore out again.
Is this a common problem? How did the rear bow seal originally attach at the ends to the structure? Mine has thin metal tabs that look like they were molded into the rubber seal. But they are thin and sharp-ish and pulled right through the rubber seal.
Any suggestions or pics of what works would be much appreciated.

Yes, its fairly common for them to rip...poor design basically.There is a post on this very topic with pics and some alternate "fixes".
Bummer. I was hoping there was a good fix. I'm not finding the post you are referencing. I'm on here a whole bunch and I have looked. Would you mind posting a link or a title?
