Rear Main Seal Question

Any advantage of using a silicone or Fluoroelastomer rear main seal versus a OEM style rubber one?

Re: Rear Main Seal Question

I think longevity is the answer, the OEM rubber is more prone to cracking and what not as the seal gets older. All i can think of anyway.

Re: Rear Main Seal Question

I would hope that the flouro-elastomer, silicone and other high-grade seals would be less likely to leak since they are a higher grade material than the OEM seal. Maybe check the fel-pro website and see if they have info or tests on it.
