Question for the "Rugged Riders"

Those of you whose cars came from the factory without AC and even those of you that removed it from your cars, how do you keep cool during the summer when its raining, and keep somewhat dry? I was riding home from work today, and it started to pour, so I tried to crack both my passenger and driver side windows so the air would have an inlet and outlet and cool the car, but the water just ran off the t-tops and through the opening. Also, if I open it too wide, the water from my windshield wipers ends up running down my leg. Its not a major problem or anything, just wondering how others cope with it.

I open the floor vents when it's raining out. The rake of the windshield and the vert top makes the rain come right on the armrest like a waterfall.

When it's hot out, and raining, I have my floor vents open. but not much flows, I also have the fan on high. I perfer to keep the windows closed.. so I just tough it out, and suffer.

to be blunt, while driving the '79 year round with non a/c or heat, i guess a person could get used to having frost form on the eye brows or driving with a heavy towell to keep the sweat out of my eyes, i always had the windows down and now its become a habbit now that i have a/c ;0}
