Thermostat yes or no? (2) electric fan in front?
i have a 85 z28 with a 350 ci (stock for now) 5 speed
my question is what is the downfall of running with no thermostat in the car if there is a down fall of would i be o.k.?
(2) i have the belt driving clutch fan setup in the car and i have an electric fan laying around from a tpi car. can i install the electric fan in the front of the car? also would i have to reverse the fan if so how? and which way do i want the fans to go.
thanks

To answer your 1st question YES! You should always run a thermostat in a street driven car. The thermostat allows the coolant to cycle stoping the flow long enough for the the heat in the coolant to radiate into the air, "heat exchange cycle."
To answer you second question, the flow of the fan cannot be changed unless you were to pull the fan part off of the motor and swich the blade dierction. Unfourtuantly it wont work with the kinda fan you have. If you were to just swich polarity on the wires the fan wouldent pull much air through the system at all because the blade is meant for a puller setup.

when i first got my car back in september i wondered why it ran so hot and decided to change my thermostat to a 180. open up the waterneck and there is NO thermostat. no wonder the lady sold it to me so cheap, she probably thougth it was having all these irregular problems. it doesnt seem like she ever baked it really though because i still pull a strong quartermile and cant find any tell tale signs of a cracked head or blown headgasket.
i'd just run a 160 or 180 and you shouldnt have any problems. mind if i ask why you wanna run with no thermostat?
